Er moet binnen 12-24 uur een pneumokokken-urineantigeentest verricht worden; indien positief kan versmald worden naar penicilline iv of amoxicilline iv.
Er moet binnen 12-24 uur een Legionella-urineantigeentest verricht worden; indien legionella antigeentest positief, antibiotica aanpassen
Behandelduur 5 dagen bij goede klinische respons
Overweeg bi PSI >130 of AMBU-65 score 4-5 hydrocortison toe te voegen volgens de richtlijn (niet bij aspiratie of influenza)
